[Hey so, chasma squad, Rin has a letter to show off first:]
i never said it, then, but after some reflection on it since thursday - i doubt it would be easy to say for me, and still i think the feeling is mutual.
you're doing your best. i know you can keep it under control until we see each other again.
do me proud. kaeya and i will be back with the others before you know it.

[And after showing that, he'll address the others.]
Mikazuki is the one that wrote the note. He gave a long-winded explanation as to why, but if you ask me it's mostly bullshit. The main point is that he was mad at Hua Cheng for not framing someone who had already killed, but instead of just talking to him about it he wrote that note. And according to him, the shadow didn't influence him to do it either. He said it wasn't his intention to get Hua Cheng killed, but...well. You know. That's probably bullshit too.
[Rin is Extremely Unhappy with how that whole conversation went btw, but he's holding it together. Positive words from Hua Cheng's letter definitely helped.]
I see. Only so few of us would use someone's full name. [ Hm. ] Framing someone who has killed? We already knew living possessed and the contract would be breached by multiple accounts of murder from one party. It would look more suspicious if trying to frame one of them and instead we should have focused on the other cases.
[ So he isn't surprised, but the excuse isn't Solid for him. In the end, it is just punishment. ]
I received this note from Hua Cheng.
i am writing this to a spread of people to ensure that the warning reaches everyone on the living side.
judging by estelle's reaction when mollymauk and tsurumaru brought the news, and the reception of that reaction, this will not go to deaf ears. but regardless: if you see that daruma again, do not touch it. leave it where it is, or keep it separate from the body.
do not reunite them. do not destroy it unless you're certain you can destroy what's contained within it. whoever luo binghe is, whatever threat that estelle would warn us of, the part of him that's in that doll was put there for a reason, and unleashing it is against our best interests.

i think i'll be planting daffodils with stephanotis actually. they'll make a beautiful combination. perhaps you'll look up something about sub rosa for me in the library and relay it so that we might include it? i recall seeing the term while i was still on that side, but i'm afraid i don't have access to it any longer here.
might start an herb garden while i'm here, too. saffron, tumeric, orris, rue, and mace could be of use, so far from the hotel's kitchen.
anyways, good luck on saturday. afraid i can't get you out of trouble this time.

[ He underlined these letters himself. ]
Souji also responded to my letter, but it is not useful.
... Hua Cheng was unaware of this during the time of his crime. Such a suggestion is useless.
[ But anyway: ]
Daffodils usually mean rebirth or new beginnings. Stephanotis are a wedding flower, now more commonly known for 'good fortune' and 'the longing to travel.'
perfect, the second note is exactly the one i wanted to see the definition of. perhaps you and the others will be able to keep it in mind while we tend to things here? you may, of course, share these letters of advice with those that would like to learn a little more about gardening during these trying times so long as they stick to the sub rosa method. but ideally there will be no further flooding - certainly seemed like quite a few exciting things were happening for everyone today.
besides the herbs and spices i mentioned previously, i was thinking of some others since i sent my letter yesterday. they might tie in well - tell me what you think? sage, allspice, wintergreen for certain. hysopp, oregano, tarragon, elderflower, and lavender perhaps? the distance for them might be a bit of a problem, but we have quite a few talented gardeners here.
the flower garden will need a bit more work, though, as it doesn't seem like it'll be as unmoving as originally planned. might even have to relocate all the sprouts in the garden, so i'm a little worried about their travel, too. at least daffodils and stephanotis are hardy when treated right.
[ shows the list he's written down after he figured out what flowers they were: wallflowers, allium, lantana, kumquat, iris (blue), nasturtium, and gooseberry.

[YEAH THAT SURE HAPPENED IN THEIR CONVERSATION]
What do daffodils and stephanotis mean?

[More to use if he has to yell at Jiji again later.]
Huh. Probably they mean the dead are coming back soon, and we'll be lucky too. And leaving, definitely leaving here too.

[ Since it spells out STORM. ]
Unless we don't need to worry any longer.
no subject
We just need an umbrella for that, yeah?
[He. Took 'storm' literally.]

The weather has been strange ever since Hua Cheng considered the garden.

I know we have to use code to communicate, but this is getting ridiculous.
