[ ah this conversation. kaeya leans back, gaze turning upwards to the sky for a moment, a weak laugh leaving him before his chin dips. ]

Unfortunately, yes.

[ he turns his eye to him. ]

Knowing you, I take it you've thought about this quite a bit, too?

I would rather think on it even if it never comes instead of having limited days to decide.

[ He looks ahead only, looking at the arena being prepped for the next battle. Anyway, he doesn't want to talk more about that, it seems. He is only curious to know who's prepared. ]

Have you sat in on any battles yet?

A few yes, the competition is lively, you'd be spoiled for choice when it comes to opponent.

[ he eyes yjh's sword and lifts a brow. ]

You intend to have a couple of rounds in the ring, Yoo Joonghyuk?

It depends if the prize is worth it. Honor and pride mean nothing to me and I do not particularly enjoy violence.

[ Just sometimes violence is the choice? He isn't going to fight for nothing. ]

Have you been in any competition? Or is that not one hallmark your kingdom practices.

[callalilies]

I do know you can earn coin in this place, it'd be helpful to fill the coffers so to speak.

[ he tilts his head ]

Not really, I'm usually too busy with my duties as a Captain to engage in competition, besides we're more of a city of wine and song. That being said, I might try my hand. It would be productive regardless.

[malewife]

Wine and song. It sounds nice. [ Which is something Joonghyuk seldom says. ] Frankly, I can't imagine you waving a sword around.

[ He's just teasing. ]

Well, I suppose I'm just full of surprises, aren't I?

[ smiling regardless, he feels that tease and just offers him a shake of his head. ]

But my duties require it. Cryo doesn't solve all my problems, after all. Something a blade is what you really need.

[malewife]

... But sometimes a blade isn't enough, is it? To solve your problems—to protect what you want to protect.

[ Sometimes he would like to put down the sword, really. ]

[ he will nod that that. ] It's a balance of the two. And the knowledge to know when to utilize which.

[ the notion is oddly comforting. ]

... Perhaps not this week. I don't want to reopen my wounds so early.

I have no intention of crossing swords with you until you're healed, never fear Yoo Joonghyuk. That wouldn't be a very satisfying battle, would it?

[ he knows he would a. never hear the end of it and b. that's just rude anyways. he wants a fight that doesn't involve him . ]

But no complaining, that's a promise.

I've fought with missing limbs and a missing eye before, so injury is no issue, but it would be foolish. I would prefer not to wash my clothes more than I have to.

[ Efficiency. ]

[ Might as well put some kind of reward in it. ]
