[Stop, this is veering into Joker territory, and Jason will kill him dead on the spot at that time. This is the only place where Joonghyuk diverges from Bruce Wayne.
Also, he just MAKES A FACE OF EXASPERATION at the fucking standard here being "I didn't vivisect him at least." The bar is in the GROUND.]
What'd the pawn shop have in it, hearts and eyeballs?
[This is just an assumption Joonghyuk went in the pawn shop. He is shitposting because of the fucking vivisected man.]
[ Jason really is just letting this go... Joonghyuk talks like this is whatever. ]
... Magic in vials. Weapons. I had nothing on me except for my sword, so I pretended that I was willing to part with it to know what exactly the pawn shop stocked.
I would have left, but the pawn shop keeper mentioned having the highest grade of healing magic in a vial. [ i'm sorry ] I killed him, took that vial, and also pocketed some others items to prepare for the next engagement.
[He only says this once, and not half as scoldingly as he should definitely be saying it. (He does not want to be Bruce.) Also? He kills plenty of people, too. Except they are bad people, and that's where he draws the line. Either they attack him first and deserve it, or he has already found all the dirt on them to know they are terrible, they're scum.
Besides, who knows in the end, maybe this shop keeper was an asshole doing shady business. There were guns. And magic. (Eugh.) So it might have been whatever for Jason. Very funny.]
The shopkeeper kept a box under his desk which had some heavily redacted medical records. One piece mentioned locations and at the bottom it said to go to where "Lake of Refuse" once was...
[ Hm. ]
I searched for the lake, found a door, went in, got taken to a department store and met with the other two. They had clues as well, in the form of doodles... Which illustrated we had to go down a hole. We couldn't discuss or linger for long because monsters appeared and chased us, but we found the hole at the bottom of the department store. It was gushing out sludge that burned like acid.
[ You see this is like. A mess? And Joonghyuk is doing his best here, but there's a long pause, like he's thinking on something. He's thinking for a very long time. ]
A larger monster came out of the hole, using most of the sludge in it, and blocked our path.
[His brows furrow. He actually follows this rather well, but only because he is used to crazy shit happening back home despite how ordinary all the Bats are in their collective group.
Sometimes, you coexist in a world with other beings, metahuman, and things like that.]
So you fought the sludge monster. [It isn’t a question, but it is.] So you could get down the hole.
[His eyes skim slowly down the page once more from the top, and then he hands it back to Joonghyuk. He taps his temple with one finger on his other hand. I may not be smart enough to copy it with only my expert Bat brain memory, but Jason is.]
[The hiccups worry him, but there isn't a lot he can do about it exactly, so he kind of just has to coast along. Take it as it comes. Like before, his muscles tense when Joonghyuk grabs him, but he doesn't fight back or resist.
What Joonghyuk has said makes him frown thinly, but first:]
You keep going in and out of lucidity is why, and you'd never let me live if you knew I let you stay out here to act stupid in front of other people. So Niah and I are taking you back to your room.
[...]
Those places can't do anything to me that hasn't already been done before.
[ Niah watches them intensely like who will win. Joonghyuk, in comparison, gives him a different intense leer. It isn't hostile or aggressive, but... More so searching resolve and perseverance.
You're the last bastard here I want to be responsible for, Yoo Joonghyuk.
[Just saying.
He curls his fingers behind Joonghyuk's arm as if to tell him to get up, but he doesn't try to haul Joonghyuk up himself.]
Come on. If I carry you, it's going to be over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes, so I'd rather you just walk yourself. You've got two functioning legs; it's your brain that's fried. You don't want to talk to people right now, yeah? Stay in your room for a while.
[ Joonghyuk would be a headache for anyone, that's fair.
He keeps a hold on Jason's wrist, tightening ever so slightly. Predictably, he plans to go in silence just as Jason says, but then he feels a flurry of petals forming. Annoyed, he speaks: ]
... That stupid trip has me worrying if someone isn't there I'll forget who I am.
[ Who will he be if no one is there? When they meet him again? Will he still be the same person? He isn't sure. ]
[He frowns a bit without trying to make it obvious this bothers him. They are both so damn stupid.]
You've got Niah. Keep him with you. [This is an attempt to be reassuring.] You just said you weren't my responsibility, but now it sounds like you're asking me to babysit you. Make up your mind, old man.
[He tries to draw his hand back.]
I'll stay until I can pawn you off on someone else. You won't forget.
Also. You fuck. He reaches out to use Joonghyuk's arm to sort of turn him around where he needs to go. WHY IS THIS LIKE TAKING CARE OF AN OLD MAN WITH DEMENTIA?]

For our troubles, Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd found a piece of paper with the hotel’s emblem on it. It was this.

Even if this seems to just be a game between—who, the staff? Other people…?]
Well. The R worked. “That’s not a word,” huh?

[ A theory! Anyway, this clue paper Jason may have… Cause Joonghyuk is loses focus. He shakes his head to come back. ]

He squints, but more so that he's having another short episode. Shaking his head, he pieces some words. ]
Are you prepared?

Jason stands there with the most narrow-eyes and watchful gaze ever. Maybe his daemon really would be a hawk. That’s how he’s watching Joonghyuk.]
I don’t think there can be much more prep than what I’m already capable of. So yes and no. I’ll deal with it.
Maybe I’ll be lucky enough it won’t happen to me. That’s be funny.
no subject
What is his third daemon form? Stop staring at him like that, hello? No, Jason is right to watch him because he kind of descends from here. ]
Happy dreams...

Alright, that’s it. Niah! Come help me get this idiot to your room.
[He reaches out, but just touches Joonghyuk’s shoulder rather than anything else right now.]
Come on, Yoo. We’re going back in. You can come on your own and follow me, or I’m going to haul you there. Your choice.

When Joonghyuk feels a touch on his shoulder, he grabs Jason's wrist and snaps back. ]
I've seen how you acted in that room. These trips... They will use everything against you. Fears. Loved ones—[ ... ] Why are you touching my shoulder?

Good.

You said that place was someone’s memories. Why do you think that?

He gets up and goes to his room. ]
… Same name for the place I was in. Same term usage. It has to be from someone’s memories.
