[UM???? yeah that's not good LET'S GO TAF Alisaie's getting her ass over there as quick as she can once she sees someone on the ground, dropping down to her knees beside them.]
Wake up--can you hear me?
[IF ONLY SHE COULD USE HER MAGIC HERE.........]

[Breathing is good. Breathing means alive, at least. Alisaie rolls him onto his back, if he wasn't already on it, and starts checking him over for any wounds he might have sustained. To the daemon, she asks:] What happened to him? No, wait--I'll ask you questions. If the answer's yes, then sit down. If no, lie down instead.
[She very much hopes that the wolf can understand her... Taf can, but she's not sure if any other companions can understand her.]
[ There are no wounds! Though it seems like a lot of sand is on his clothing. For the most part, very much looks like he passed out.
............ Well. Alisaie is smart enough to remember daemons cannot speak and I was able to scour the mod questions rq for the human speech in general answer. The wolf daemon sits down for a yes. ]
[Yeah, she'd almost told the wolf to just stand up again if it was correct, but... they're at least on the same page. Her expression tightens, and she looks down to him.]
I suppose now I understand why Taf was so determined to keep me away from the edge of the city...
[Okay.] Has he been like this for very long? He needs to wake up, or he'll be in danger of worse damage. [Beat, and then to the wolf:] I'm only doing this to wake him up, so don't you lunge at me.
[And then she's going to yank him up by his shirt, giving him a sharp smack across the face. It's not as hard as she can manage, but uh. She's no weakling so.]
[ You know what... Niah, the daemon, thinks this is fine. If it could slap Joonghyuk, then it would. So she can slap him once. Blearily, his eyes flutter open a bit.
There is a glare and wow his cheek is red from the smack. ]
Given that you didn't wake the first time I attempted to rouse you, I'd say I did.
[Okay, you're awake, she can dump him back to the ground no she'll lower him a little more gently than that, considering he was just unconscious and she doesn't want to knock him out again... but she's not as concerned now.]
What did you see beyond the walls before you passed out? Anything?
[If you expected bedside manner you're talking to the wrong twin.]
[ Alisaie is too nice? She should just drop him and also he prefers a straight to the point person so she'd probably be his favorite twin. He does slowly pick himself back up on his feet with a short groan. ]
No. Nothing at all. [ He is so angry and disappointed. ] As you try to go further, the pressure increases to the point you lose consciousness.
Whatever is holding us here must not want us to venture off yet.
I suspect a barrier would have precluded its own challenges. [Notably, the aether or technology to power it... so far she's seen a definitive lack of either.]
Perhaps once the fog clears we'll be able to see what lies beyond the city limits. For now, I think you're right. We may be better served by trying to solve the mysteries that lie within the city instead.

Did something happen to cause this?

Is this what happens if we try to go too far outside of the city?

You did not need to be so forceful.

So it would seem. The question is, do they not want us to venture off so that they can spy on us, or is it truly unsafe out there?
[Look once you've seen the wasteland that the Flood brought, you kind of understand why you might not want to venture somewhere.]
Either way, we cannot know for sure now.

[ It’s strange and magical. The First is something, so that’s fair enough. ]
A barrier could have erected instead of this. [ A sigh. ] We’re left to our own devices for now.

[ He isn't sure when it'll clear despite how it's most likely tomorrow HAHA. But he looks back to the walled city before takes steps to return. ]
Have you had any solved? [ He might as well fish for info, too. ] So far the children have been useful sometimes, useless other times.
[ But his tone doesn't make it sound like he hates them. ]
