Forgive me. In the last world I was in, creatures shaped like these angels were naught but mere monsters, drawn to attack living beings. Those who believed otherwise were only being controlled by a madman. They too were faithful--and many of them died for it.

I pray these angels were more benevolent, though I admit I find it hard to believe they were.

If we believe these angels actually protect civilians, then it wouldn't be strange to mark the whole city with these symbols.

... It's foolish to not question those in power, even if they're the ones that provide.

Unfortunately, while I don't believe they are monsters in the literal sense, I'm reluctant to think they're benevolent.
